Abdul-Latif Hamdan, MD, EMBA, MPH, FACS
Abdul-Latif Hamdan, MD, EMBA, MPH, FACS is currently a Professor of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Head of the Division of Laryngology and Director of "Hamdan Voice Unit" at the American University of Beirut Medical Center AUBMC. He has completed his medical education and residency training in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at AUBMC, following which he has completed a fellowship in Laryngology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Hamdan has also earned a Master degree in Health Science, Master degree in Hospital administration, Executive Master degree in Business Administration and a Diploma in Strategy and Innovation from Oxford University. He is the founder of the "Hamdan Voice Unit" at AUBMC, the Lebanese Voice Association in Lebanon, the "Hamdan International Award" at the Voice Foundation, and the Voice Foundation Lebanon Chapter. He is a member of the Voice Foundation Board of Directors and Advisory Board, a member of the American College of Surgeons, member of International Association of Phonosurgeons, in addition to being a corresponding fellow of the American Laryngological Association.
Dr. Hamdan is a faculty member at the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery at AUBMC providing clinical care in the field of voice and laryngology and performing the full spectrum of phonosurgical procedures and office-based laryngeal surgery. He is the chairman of the research committee and has authored and co-authored more than one hundred and thirty publications in peer-reviewed and indexed Journals. His research covers mainly the laryngeal manifestations of systemic diseases in addition to the Middle Eastern singing voice. He is also currently the medical director of Strategy and Innovation at AUBMC following his position as the Chairperson of the Faculty Development Committee for two years. During his tenure, he has organized several workshops to promote the Business aspect of Medicine among Faculty Members. He is the author of the book entitled "Strategic Thinking in a Hospital Setting," a manuscript on the different strategic approaches in the management of healthcare challenges. Dr. Hamdan is also a member of the Lebanese Syndicate of Professional Artists and member of Societe des Auteurs, Compositeurs et Editeurs de Music. He has composed thirty six musical tracts and has released four musical CDs (Remorse, Empty Scenes, Always near and Beyond).
