S.A. Reza Nouraei, MBBChir, PhD, FRCS, is the chief resident in otolaryngology at the National Centre for Airway Reconstruction at Charing Cross Hospital, London and an honorary senior lecturer at University College London. He studied physiology at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge, and obtained his medical degree from the University of Cambridge in 2002. Dr. Nouraei was one of the first surgeons to be appointed into academic higher surgical training in otolaryngology. His early clinical interest in adult laryngotracheal stenosis led to his career in otolaryngology. He has helped develop a number of surgical procedures for treating laryngotracheal stenosis and created a framework for assessing outcome. Dr. Nouraei has published more than 100 peer-reviewed papers, and has been awarded a doctorate for work on adult laryngotracheal stenosis.
