Ray D. Kent is Professor of Communicative Disorders at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His research interests include neurogenic speech disorders in children and adults, typical and atypical speech development, measurement of speech intelligibility and quality, and acoustic analysis of speech. He has published nearly 200 journal articles and book chapters along with 14 books. He currently serves as Vice President for Research and Technology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and is a member of the NIDCD (NIH) Advisory Council. Kent is a fellow of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, the Acoustical Society of America, and the International Phonetics Association.
